Northwestern Law trial team wins Buffalo-Niagara Mock Trial Competition

I was thrilled this week by the announcement that my former Communication and Legal Reasoning student John Mack, along with three other Northwestern Law Students (Allison Freedman, Joy McClellan, and Kevin Jakopchek)recently competed as Northwestern’s Bartlit Center Trial Team and won the Buffalo-Niagara Mock Trial Competition against 31 other law schools. In addition, John Mack was voted Best Advocate in the tournament out of 128 competitors!

In this national competition law students try both sides of a criminal case before experienced judges and trial attorneys who serve as judges and/or evaluators.

Trial competitions, moot court competitions, and negotiation and arbitration competitions are excellent experience for law students, and I’m so happy for John and his team members.

More information about the competition is at http://www.law.northwestern.edu/news/newsdisplay.cfm?ID=603
